About Nadine
Nadine Saxton, MA, CMA, CST, RSMT
Nadine specializes in somatic work and has over 25 years experience working with people. With an MA in Dance, she was a faculty member in the Dance Department at York University and created and taught Experiential Anatomy at Ryerson University’s Theatre School. Nadine was core faculty for the LIMS Certification in Movement Analysis program hosted by York University in 2003 and is a core faculty member of the Laban/Bartenieff & Somatic Studies Canada program.
She is co-author of the book Toronto Dance Theatre 1968-1998: Stages in a Journey, and continues to work as a freelance writer.
Nadine continued advanced studies as a CMA in the area of chronic pain focusing on treatment protocols, gait analysis, and myofascial tissue release with Dr. Dianne Woodruff. First introduced to Pilates as a dancer in the 1980’s, Nadine completed her Mat training in 1997, which she modifies to meet the needs of her clients.
A Certified CranioSacral Therapist, Nadine has completed 6 levels of training with the Upledger Institute and continues to work with the organization as a Certified Teaching Assistant and Study Group leader in Toronto. She is currently working towards the Diplomate level of certification with the Upledger Institute.
Nadine holds a Diploma in Existential Integrative Psychotherapy from the Living Institute in Toronto. Working as an Intern Psychotherapist, Nadine is under the Supervision of Caroline Mardon, Director of the Living Institute clinic.
In her Toronto clinical practice, Nadine has experience working with babies and children, those with arthritis and fibromyalgia, anxiety concerns, seniors, and seriously injured individuals. She works with artists who want to enhance their creativity, body and spatial awareness, as well as those interested in soul work.
