Somatic Movement Therapy

A Somatic Movement Therapist encourages movement education that develops sensorial awareness, internal support, and clarity in basic body movement patterns. The focus on coordination, dynamic alignment and providing a framework for analysis and synthesis of movement are all aspects of this therapy.

Using simple movement sequences, imagery, breathing techniques, and touch, the practitioner helps the patient/client to re-pattern inefficient movement, recover from injury, connect emotionally, as well as improve awareness of effective and functional motor choices.

Gaining information about yourself on a sensing, feeling, intuiting level and connecting to the environment, enlivens all your relationships and enables you to release and understand underlying tensions be they emotional or physical.

NeuroMuscular Repatterning
Working at the level of the nervous system, a body-mind approach extends awareness of feelings, sensations, and thought. This manual therapy works on the muscles, tendons, and ligaments of the body to release painful contractions and restore normal tissue health necessary for full range of motion. Re-education of movement patterns supports efficient neuro-muscular sequencing.

The mobius strip of understanding ourselves is an existential journey that continues. To find the simplicity of my complexity IS indeed a fractal journey. This path is not always easy as you already know but it is a part of my life right now and I keep searching…
