SomatoEmotional Release
What is SomatoEmotional Release (SER)
Sometimes a physical injury persists long after the site of trauma has healed. Emotional imprints of intense feelings may occur at the time of an injury leaving energetic residues in our body. As time passes and we become more stressed, we lose our ability to adapt around these emotional energetic residues. This is when symptoms and dysfunctions begin to appear.
A release of emotional energy is often helpful to fully discharge an injury. In these cases, a CranioSacral Therapist may gently encourage a SomatoEmotional Release. Using dialoging and imaging techniques, the Therapist can guide the person into letting go of suppressed or ignored feelings. Often the client’s body will spontaneously return to the position it was in when the injury was first sustained. As this occurs the therapist can feel the tissues of the body relax as the energy is expelled.
