Movement Classes
Moving From the Inside Out, is a somatic approach to connecting with your entire core and relating the movement sequences to your everyday life. The intent is for functional and expressive fitness. Having a sensing and mindful experience of your life in movement enhances your experience of being in your body, rather than taking yourself out for exercise.
The first thing I do in a private or semi private session is assess where you are in your movement life. We talk about goals and objectives – what your daily life is like – what is your functional movement? Then, I gear the sessions towards your requirements. Understanding core strength from a deeply supported connection to breath is something that can be accessed in our everyday movement – from sitting – to picking up groceries – carrying laundry – climbing stairs.
I work with Developmental Patterns and underlying reflexes that support any movement process. We use balls, therabands, weights, to add variety to Pilates and conditioning exercises. I relate Pilates exercises to those that are shared with Yoga. My aim is for clients to connect to a deep awareness of how they are moving and accomplishing tasks rather than focusing on the “number of repetitions”. I use variety in abdominal work – so that it isn’t about doing “the 100″, or 100 sit ups, but, rather engaging the abdominals in a hundred different movement sequences with mindfulness.

Moving From the Inside Out
A somatic approach to movement through Bartenieff Fundamentals and Laban Movement Analysis. Classes utilize awareness of the relationship to Space, with Body level connectivity, and how we feel about these relationships. We explore changing levels and weight shifts with breath support, weight sensing to move freely and fluidly through space.

Summer Hours: Wednesday 9:30 – 10:30
Fee: Package of 10 classes $120.00 – Drop in Rate of $15.00
Private at home sessions are available.
Private and Semi Private Sessions are available at the Bosnar Centre for Health, or in your home, in the Greater Toronto Area.
Attendance
Attendance of classes is at participant’s discretion.
Cancellation policy
In the event of insufficient registration, clients will be fully refunded.
